about

"Freed of any shackles, aided and abetted by like musical minds, Rogers takes off into the stratosphere with 'Apparent Weight' which is at once the heaviest and most heartfelt statement he's made yet. After a gradual build of pure, driving turbulence the layers are stripped back to collapse into Chellew's lonesome trumpet; the forlorn brass of requiems and desolation. 'Linear Truths', which features Kelly's violin to gorgeous effect, continues the mournful tone, surrounding the strings with glittering organs. The track's reverent progression showcases the greatest leap made by Rogers with Saturations. 'Linear Truths' is so elegant and considered in its pacing as to suggest a totally new direction for the artist that could align him with modern composers like Greg Haines and Richard Skelton – men at the very peak of their compositional powers. That Rogers has achieved so much with his first attempt is nothing short of remarkable, but form hints that he will continue to push on in all manner of ways and that is the most exciting thing of all." -Steve Dewhurst, Foxy Digitalis
